- Exceptional grouping of William M. Wright including his enlisted artillery frock coat, a tintype of him wearing it, two wartime letters with great content (one mentions seeing Abe Lincoln), and a section of his family tree as written by a direct descendant. Includes service records research. Wright served from 1861 until the end of the War in 1865 in several regiments including the 14th Massachusetts (1st Heavy Artillery), 47th Massachusetts Infantry, 4th New Hampshire Infantry and the 24th Veteran Reserve Corps. During his term, he served from Washington, DC, though several areas of Northern Virginia and as far South as Ft. Fisher, NC and New Orleans.
