INSCRIBED antebellum M1850 Field and Staff sword

Very rare antebellum Louisiana Militia Model 1850 Field and Staff Officer sword, original shagreen grip and wire wrap, with original brass mounted, blued steel field scabbard. This unmolested gem is the product of Samuel Hoppe, a noted Solingen, Germany swordsmith who made edged weapons for export from 1827 until 1861. The cursive script hand inscription reads "R.H.Jr.,Col(Colonel),9th Reg't (regiment), 1st Brig. (Brigade),1st Div. (Division).
