Excellent condition M1858 Union canteen with full strap, blue wool cover, stopper and chain.  Typical of midwest depot region issues from St. Louis or Cincinnati circa 1861-1862.  Shows use and wear but on a one to ten scale, an easy 8.5+.  Museum and advanced collector grade, and a tough color cover compared to brown and tan ones.
