One of the finest looking and functioning rifled muskets of the Civil War era, the dies used to make this weapon became the ones that manufactured Confederate Richmond Armory rifled muskets, carbines and musketoons. This beautiful weapon features the Maynard Tape Primer ignition system, long range sight and patchbox in the buttstock. This example exhibits cleaning as done perhaps 30+ years ago, but all markings are legible. This gun retains the original tulip head ramrod, too. An excellent addition to any collection of fine military weapons used by both the North and the South.
